The Memorial Hall, with the Men's Reading
Room behind This image probably dates from the very early 1950s. The large white building to the left is the Tamar Inn. (The car might have had the registration FOF - Full of Fun, as it was known at the time . . . ) The railway line to Gunnislake runs from left to right, below the post-2WW Council Houses, now known as Church Lane. Although they appear to be on a hilltop, they are only part way up the long, steep hill towards the Parish Church.
At the Opening of the Hall The people include David Gerry, Mrs Easterbrook, Mrs Davy, a very young webmaster and her mother, Mrs Bazley and Mrs Gerry. |
