The West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser, 19 July 1850

At Drake Walls mine, in the parish of Calstock, on the 12th instant, Joseph
KNOTT fell about sixteen fathoms. He was speedily taken up and conveyed to
his house, about a mile distant, but died just as he was brought there.
